Trip to Innovative Filmcity

Back from Innovative Film city just an hour back. Finished with my dinner. As I was the official driver today for the trip so I have the right-left-center to say that “I am extremely tired”. Typing on the keyboard in real drowsiness.

We really had a fun time today. The ignition was switched at 11 am in the morning. Thinking that we are already late, the accelerator was in full swing on some of the empty roads(especially on the Mysore highway). As this was my first trip to that side(as a driver), so we had to make lots of inquiries to make ourselves aware of the directions. The driving was like a melting butter in a pan. The car was moving smoothly on the well constructed road. After we parked our car at the film city we were given a ride to the entrance on a small vehicle in which we were easily accommodated. After getting down from the vehicle, our eyes were glued on the entrance. We were like Wow!!!!!!! :)   First Impression : Marvelous. (We have landed at an exciting place.) :)

We trotted up to a ticket counter which they named as “Box Office”(probably because Innovative people are in movie business). Everything is chargeable there right from the entrance to any kind of enjoyment(well not any, ;) ) you want to avail inside. Even for photo shoot you have to shell out Rs. 100 for camera and Rs. 200 for a movie camera. Second Impression: Not fair….. We are being charged for bringing our own camera.

The climate was too hot and humid and we were really squinting to notice the things around . The ladies(our respective wives) were waiting for us in the lounge. After some photo shots and bag checking at the security, we finally entered inside. The first look just impressed me. Took a few shots and proceeded. Our first stop was our encounter with dinosaurs(artificial). Even there are no free dinosaurs after their extinction. We had to shell out Rs. 50 per person to enter the large green-house kind of, forest looking  hall. We took a round of that, took some snaps and came out. The next was fossil room in the list. We saved round Rs. 25 per person there as we bought dino-visit and fossil room together. So instead of Rs. 100(if bought separate) it costed us Rs. 75 together. The fossil room was Ok, all artificial stuff but quite informative. In the center of the hall stood Tyrannosaurus.  We did not spend much time inside and proceeded to our next to-be-seen thing in the list. The next in the list were Ripley’s believe it or Not, Louis Tussuad Wax Museum, and aqua Kingdom. What next?? The access would only be granted after putting our hands in pockets and buy the ticket. Ripley’s was quite fantastic to visit. Many of the things, I had already watched on AXN, however, I still found it very interesting especially the tongue rolling thing which was quite funny(Just see it to find it, I do not want to tell anything about that). Ok, after Ripley’s the next was Tussuad Wax Museum. It was Ok, some figures from Tussuad himself  to celebrities like Madonna, Marylene Monroe and famous people like Shakespeare, Mother Teresa were displayed there. The time was around 3.15 pm when we came out of the Wax Museum and our stomachs were really begging for some food. The food court was jam packed. After some struggle we managed to gather some food. The last in the list was the Aqua kingdom. The only thing operational there was the wave pool. No doubt it was big but not as good as the one in Wonderlaa. The amount of chlorine beyond the normal standards and my eyes were burning after I floated in the water. My wife opted to sit on a deck chair as she was quite tired. So after spending sometime in the wave pool we decided to leave. We changed, sat for sometime and decided to leave by 5.30 pm. While coming back we decided to en route to Bangalore-Mysore corridor highway to escape from the evening traffic. It was fun driving.

I feel that the place is just worth visiting only once. It is quite costly and also it pinches when you have to pay for everything inside even if it is Rs.50 or Rs. 100. In that way, Wonderlaa is quite a good place where you have to pay only once at the entrance and enjoy inside without dropping your hands into the money clad pocket. The food is Ok(may be the stall from where we bought was not that good). The architecture is good. We still missed out some places like cartoon city, miniature city due to shortage of time.
